Creator Lucy Anne Aylen has created a handful of pieces that are loved by city girls and fashionistas alike, including the Ethan Nude Body (with pearly cuffs), the Jadles Nude Frock (available also in Navy, Coral and Black) and the new Adelaide Swing with an adorable pearly collar.

The designs are priced between £30-50, great value when you think of the life-time of use you can get out of them. Lucy is a great spokesperson for her brand (she wears her own pieces) having fostered a huge following to her stall in Spitalfields market, Portobello market,  her facebook group Never Fully Dressed (which has 1,817 members), her website NeverFullyDressed.com and to Body Basics, Liverpool Street station, which stocks her frocks.

The best place to buy her creations is at the market stalls but for browsing in your own time, check out NFL’s extensive photo collection on facebook. There is just something irresistable about these designs.. or else I wouldn’t have bought 4 pieces in one day!

Still, we have to ask, is the Outnet really the bargain-hunting fashionista’s dream?

I decided to check it out, all in the purpose of research of course.

Firstly, do not be fooled into thinking this is Net-a-porter, only cheaper. It is not. When the trendiest items to hit Net-a-porter then sell out in minutes, the things on this site were the ones left after weeks. Plus at 40% off, which is what many of the items are, it would be more worth your while waiting for the sales at Harvey Nics and Selfridges.

Additionally, this site has none of the little extras that make Net-a-porter what it is. At Net-a-porter if you don’t like an item you purchased you call the courier and they come and take it away…for free. At the Outnet it’s going to cost you love. Bearing in mind that things that haven’t sold are often things that fit in an odd manner, at £8 a pop to return something, this could be most costly than you think!

Still, the site has some fun features, such as the Pop-Up sales. They have a specific theme and offer better than usual discounts for a limited time only.  Great idea.

Where the real bargains are to be had is with bags and shoes. Timeless, statement pieces, that can be bought for anything between 40%-70% off, and with bags especially there isn’t too much worry that they won’t fit.

The Outnet isn’t quite Chiconmics…but it is still the best site out there for discount designer shopping from your sitting room. If you want to take a gamble then risk the £8 return fee and hit those flash sales early. Otherwise play it safe and check out the bag section, there you are guaranteed to find something to lust over.

However, there are a few choice picks in the shoe department that are that rare combination of both affordable and long-lasting in style.
